How do you design learning that remains relevant as people and contexts change?

There is no single model for learning that works for every creative practitioner, organisation or country.
My relationship with the European Crafts Alliance has developed through successive programmes because of a shared commitment to learning that responds to the people experiencing it.
Beginning with the Crafting Business programme and developing through Make:Grow:Flourish and Crafter Online Market, each programme has created another opportunity to listen, reflect, review and adapt, rather than simply repeating a model because it worked before.
Today, that relationship has developed further: supporting ECA member organisations to strengthen how they design and deliver learning for creative practitioners within their own countries.
My role is increasingly about helping others see learning from different perspectives, drawing on my experience while enabling them to develop approaches relevant to their own people and context.
Working with Caroline has been an excellent experience for the ECA. She combines a strong ability to design and deliver learning programmes with an attentive and empathetic approach to participants’ capacities and individual needs, while always keeping the overall objectives of the training or mentoring programme in focus. Her way of sharing knowledge is highly engaging: she listens, tests ideas, encourages exchange and creates a collaborative atmosphere in which participants feel comfortable and involved. Feedback from participants has consistently been extremely positive, with her approach to delivering the training often highlighted as one of the most valuable aspects of the programme.
